ruth allen is a self taught artist who has almost always lived in the southern states of the us. she is inspired by her love of animals, flowers, trees, relationships, feelings, words, and ideas. there is a sense of excavation and sometimes burial in her artistic process as each piece has many layers, some seen, some unseen and unseeable. she loves combining line drawings with ai generated images, distorted original drawings and photos, collaging everything together. still fascinated with learning animation. her first show of paintings was in 2008, in 2019 she self published a kids book she wrote and illustrated and also minted her first nft.
